News from the Office
Abi has now joined us in the office as our new admin assistant and is looking forward to speaking to you on the phone or meeting you when you come into the office.
Congratulations to Tracie who has been made senior carer. Theresa, Lucy, Charlene and Emily have also joined the care team. Theresa is already working on her own and I am sure some of you will have already met her. Lucy, Charlene and Emily have just started their training and are shadowing our carers.
Many of our carers have been updating their skills in the last few months with carers undertaking courses in manual handling, first aid, safeguarding and dementia.
Our next outing will be afternoon tea at the on Thursday 2nd November at the Old Felixstowe Community Hall at 3pm. If you would like to attend please fill in the attached form or ring the office. Transport will be provided. Please feel free to bring friends or family the more the merrier. The cost will be £7.00.
We all enjoy a wander around Wyevale and a look at the Christmas goodies sometimes we might even find the odd Christmas present. We are planning a trip on 9th November in the afternoon giving us the opportunity to pop in to the café and get a cup of something and a cake? The cost will be £7.50 this covers the cost of carers time and transport.
Our Christmas Party will be held on 7th December at the Royal British Legion Hall. Please feel welcome to bring a family members or friends. More details nearer the time.
Flu jabs – Flu jabs are now available at your Doctors surgery or with the community nurse, if you are unable to get to the doctors. Please give the office a ring if you need help with booking your jab or transport to the doctors.
With the nights drawing in and the weather turning colder please remember to
- Draw your curtains at dusk
- Have regular hot drinks and at least one hot meal a day
- Wear several light layers
- Keep your home warm, between 18-21C
- Keep as active as possible
