Changes in the office

We have a new director; Dariush, many of you have received a welcome letter. He has settled well in to the team at Rosecare and is highly motivated to ensure you all continue to receive the professional, reliable and flexible care you are used to.

Laura who has been our deputy manager has stepped up to be our new registered manager.

Congratulations to Kellie who is now our new Client-coordinator, taking over from Brenda who has decided to step down to carer. Thank you to Brenda for everything you have done.

You all may have noticed changes to your programmes, as we are running a new system in the office, please feel free to give us any feedback you may have.

********Flu Vaccination*******

If you have not already had your annual flu jab, please book your free appointment with your surgery.  Our carers are able to take you to the surgery if you would like us to, or if you are unable to get out, then the district nurses can come to your home to do this for you.

It is that time again when we start thinking about Christmas and New Year.  there will not be any housework or shopping trips on the bank holiday. If you wish to rearrange, please call the office and we will do our best to change your visit to a different day.  Please also note that Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Years Day are all bank holidays and therefore charged at double the normal rate. Please let us know if you wish to cancel.

Note from Dariush

I can’t believe I have been part of Rose Care for 10 weeks already!

My time here has just flown by, it has been amazing seeing the professional and caring approach of the remarkable staff I now have the great fortune to be working with.

I am sorry to say I have not been able to get out and meet many people we care for yet, even when I donned uniform recently, the senior team here cherish the quality of care we provide so much they only let me go on a couple of lunch care calls when other carers have been off and felt it would be safer to take on more support themselves and staff came in on their day off!

I look forward to meeting many of you at the Christmas Party, and once the senior team have faith I will not damage the great reputation of Rose Care, I will hopefully get out to see more of you in your own homes on occasional care calls.

Although I have learnt a lot about Rose Care, good and not so good, please do continue to pass on feedback, positive and negative alike. I have attached a brief survey and would be hugely grateful if you could complete this and return to us so we can learn and move forward.

I have had the pleasure of reading some newsletters from several years ago and loved reading some of the stories and reflections on life from people we were caring for.

I would love it if we were able to restart doing this and would be very grateful if some of you would be willing to send us a poem or reflection on events of your lives in years gone by.

Keeping warm this winter

Now the clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in, our attention is turned towards the coming winter months and keeping warm, so here are some tips from the NHS for keeping warm and well.

  • Draw your curtains at dusk or ask a carer to help you.
  • Have regular hot drinks and at least one hot meal a day!
  • Wear several light layers or keep a blanket nearby.
  • Keep your home warm,
  • between 18-21C!
  • Keep as active as possible.
