A very warm welcome to our winter newsletter and to all our new clients.
Tuesday 10th December 2024
This year’s Christmas party is being held at Walton community hall, High Road,
Food and entertainment provided. Transport available via facts bus.
Please let us know if you can make it.
Now the clocks have gone back and the nights are drawing in, our attention is turned towards the coming winter months and keeping warm, so here are some tips from the NHS for keeping warm and well.
Dariush has survived a whole year with us. He is doing an amazing job and has been to many Rosecare club outings. And hopefully met many of you by now.
Laura who has been our Registered Manager for a year now!!
We have also been busy decorating the office, with a new look. If you are out and about then please feel free to pop in, have a look and have a cuppa to keep warm. If you are unable to get out, then the carers can take some photos for you on their phone to show you when they see you.
You all may have noticed that the carers are no longer writing care notes in the folders, and are using the app, if you would still like to sign up to this and have access to the care records, please contact the office and we will get a consent form to you.
If you have not already had your annual flu jab, please book your free appointment with your surgery. Our carers are able to take you to the surgery if you would like us to, or if you are unable to get out, then the district nurses can come to your home to do this for you.
We have lots of pads in the office that we have been given over the years. There are all different shapes and sizes. If you need any then please let the office know and we can get them delivered to you.
We are organising a trip to the Spa Pavilion on Saturday 21st December for the Christmas Panto show starts at 3PM. If you would like to attend, please let the office know. We can arrange transport with carers as the facts bus is unavailable.
Christmas and New Year is a time to be thankful, celebrate the year past and look forward to the future. With this in mind I firstly want to thank you for choosing Rose Care to provide the tailored support you need to maintain as much independence as possible and remain in the home you love. Secondly, I want to emphasise my thanks to all our wonderful staff, who provide outstanding care to you throughout the year. The level of care and support you receive is not an accident; it takes on ongoing commitment to training / skill development, continuous improvement, attention to detail, great communication and most importantly loving the work they do from the whole team! I could not ask for a more dedicated group of staff!
The Rose Care Club outings which have increased in frequency and variety this year remain a highlight for me, I love meeting so many of you at these events. Through 2024 we continued to receive positive feedback, more referrals than we were able to accept, as quality is more important than quantity! We have also continued to focus on improving the care and support we provide, with a few major changes to utilising technology, but more importantly continuous updates and adjustments in response to issues other providers may ignore or think are too minor to act on. Please continue to help us with this by giving us ongoing feedback!
This emphasis on quality has enabled Rose Care to move into its 30th year providing home care in 2025 and we look forward to continuing to providing outstanding care to Felixstowe residents for many decades to come!
John (our Rose Care Client) has painted ‘The Christmas Rose’ John is partially sighted and is working alongside the RNIB to inspire and pave the way to allow other partially sighted people to fulfil tasks and hobbies they may not believe they can do.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.
