General

At Rose Care, our care-givers are there to support rather than just 'do', acting with understanding and giving help where it is needed.

Home care jobs with Rose Care are wide-ranging, flexible and rewarding.

Whatever your experience in care work, when you join Rose Care, you will  be sure to develop new and transferable skills, win great employment experience and feel valued.

We are a small business which means we can care personally about every member of our team – as individuals. We value you and your life choices.

Rose Care home carers have a say in the amount / time in the day they wish to work and we will always do our best to help you get the hours you are looking for at times which work for you.

That’s a different mindset from a care home employer who is looking for a team to fill shifts and dictates set working hours.

At Rose Care we recognise that if you need to work part time, you may wish to work on certain days of the week or certain hours in the day.

We may be able to offer hours punctuated by a break when you can go home, do your own shopping, go to your little ones’ school assembly or pick them up from nursery. You may then wish to do another hour of care work later that day.

If you work full time with Rose Care, your places of work will still be very local to you – so no long commute – and you’ll be very much part of the community.

At Rose Care we know that you will take best care of our clients, if we take best care of you. That’s why we provide all our team with access to experienced support, ongoing training and personal development opportunities as well as  competitive rates of pay for employers in the home care sector.

Having a job as a professional care-giver in Felixstowe with Rose Care can be hugely rewarding in many ways.

You’ll be supporting people and putting a smile on their faces; working as a team and using your own initiative; developing new and transferable skills and experience and feeling valued.

And you can be there for your family and other commitments too. As a professional care-giver in Felixstowe with Rose Care, you can enjoy a flexible job where you can work locally around school pick-ups, appointments, caring for you own family or alongside other part-time employment.

At Rose Care we - and our clients - expect all our care team to be polite, respectful, smart in appearance and good at time-keeping.

We look for motivated home carers  (with or without professional experience to date) who understand client priorities, do not cut corners and take pride in the valuable work they do.

At Rose Care, we have home care professional work for new carers in Felixstowe as well as experienced and qualified people who have already worked in the care sector.

If you’re considering becoming a carer and are kind, compassionate, able to work as part of a team and also use your own initiative, you’re already heading in the right direction! These are all great starting points for a job as a care-giver.

And if you display the qualities we consider appropriate for the home care professional work we offer, we will give you all the support you need to become a valuable member of our team.

All new team members have a 2 week induction period regardless of previous experience. This includes shadowing carers and in-house courses as appropriate and new care-givers work towards gaining their care certificate - an online course which takes about 3 months.

At Rose Care we welcome new carers who display the qualitities we consider appropriate for the home care professional work we offer as well as experienced and qualified people who have already worked in the care sector.

All those who join our team - regardless of their professional care-giver experience to date - have a 2 week induction period. This includes shadowing carers and in-house courses as appropriate.

New care-givers work towards gaining their care certificate. This is an online course and takes about 3 months.

Yes!

At Rose Care we pride ourselves on giving our team all the support and encouragement they need to keep their skills up-to-date and grow their skill-base.

All professional care-givers are required to undertake mandatory courses on an ongoing basis.

We also actively advise and support the personal development of individuals within our team, encouraging interest in specialized learning (eg. dementia support/palliative care etc.)

We all care for ourselves and our loved ones, so many elements of understanding around personal care just come naturally!

There's no hiding that some duties around person-centred care may be outside the realms of our personal day to day experiences. Don't worry though - our induction and care certificate preparation programmes are designed to fill those gaps.

It’s also worth noting that we believe our clients should be encouraged to undertake aspects of personal care themselves where they are able. So we’ll support you to adopt recommended ways to encourage those needing our help.
You will learn how to wash someone and provide person-centred care, but you’ll also understand how to give the support where needed whilst respecting the personal space of the individual concerned. Some days, for some clients, that will mean helping out a little more than on others.

In working with them, in the way they want to be cared for, our Rose Care home care-givers assist clients to maintain their dignity.

This means that our care-givers are there to support rather than just 'do', acting with understanding and giving help where it is needed.

Yes. Rose Care provides a personal uniform for each of its home carers.

You will always be required to wear it when you are representing the company, but there may be the occasional exception.

Our probation period for carers is generally 3 months, but can be up 6 months.

We want you to settle in comfortably and find your feet at the speed which is right for you, so we undertake regular reviews.

Our professional home care jobs are wide ranging, with roles for new carers as well as experienced care professionals or those with relevant Health and Social Care qualifications.

Our care-givers go into our clients’ personal homes to support them in their independent living. We care for individuals in their homes throughout Felixstowe and in the neighbouring villages.

We also have home care work in Felixstowe for care-givers with experience in dementia care, caring for people with specific degenerative diseases, and palliative care.

Anyone with a kind, compassionate and understanding character and willingness to learn and help others respectfully in their own homes to lead an independent life.

It does not matter if English is your second language or whether you have a young family or are caring for elderly parents or relatives of your own and are only looking for a set number of hours.

What counts is that you are right for the job, so you will be happy, gel with our team – and make our clients happy too.

Our combination of thorough training and work-placement shadowing gives comprehensive support to those new to a role as a carer.

Written applications, face-to-face interviews and personal checks are all part of our application process. We are very experienced in recruiting home care workers for our business and spotting potential.

Working in care is highly rewarding – you will be able to see the  difference you can personally make to someone’s quality of life.

Being a home carer is different to doing care work in a nursing home or care home.

The care you will give can be very wide-ranging, at times quite specialized, at others as simple as sharing some company or encouraging and enabling someone to do an everyday task.

From a personal life perspective, it allows you to live your life more around your family and commitments to a greater degree – and that can make a big difference to you personally.

A carer in a care home works a shift and goes home. As a home carer with Rose Care, you might do a number of hours locally, then have a chance to go home – to do the washing perhaps or pick the kids up from school. You may then do another hour of work caring for someone in their home later in the day.

At Rose Care, our care-givers work locally to where they live – where they know. They share their neighbourhood knowledge with the people they look after and vice versa! They have access to proper support from an experienced and genuinely caring team, ongoing training, flexible hours, personal development opportunities and rates of pay in line with the care sector.

At Rose Care we know that you will take best care of our clients, if we take best care of you.  Like good care, that comes from the heart.

Car-owners are always welcome – it can be easier to get about whatever the weather or season.

A car is usually necessary for accompanying clients to appointments or sharing an outing to the shops, café or park.

There is a system in place to claim expenses for using your car at work.

We’ll get in touch. The next step is a more detailed form and references.

An interview is arranged, usually within a week (where appropriate).

Job offers follow within 2-3 days, subject to DBS checks carried out and paid for by Rose Care.

Rose Care operates a bonus system recognising dedication, teamwork and simply great care, because we really value our team and the difference you make to our business.

We recognise the level of responsibility and accountability our home carers have and treat employees fairly and honestly.

At Rose Care, our rates of pay are competitive within the home-care sector and holiday entitlement is standard.

To start with Rose Care, you do not need to have any qualifications as such - it’s more about your character, attitude and willingness to learn. Of course if you already have care sector relevant qualifications, we will be pleased to talk you through what we can offer.
