Over the course of 28 years Liz and Sue setup and grew Rose Care Suffolk into a highly respected home care service known throughout Felixstowe, being recognised as Outstanding by the CQC and Liz being a part of the parliamentary reviews in home care. Liz and Sue are both taking a well deserved retirement in 2023 and chose Dariush to take the reins in continuing the great care the team provides in to the next stage of Rose Care Suffolk.
Background (& a little history)
Sharing the same values, the two professional carers soon saw the real difference that their home visits made to the lives of people keen to keep their independence and remain part of the community despite advancing years and setup Rose Care in 1995 when a bout of financial cuts saw many care visits suddenly disappear, leaving clients whom Liz and Sue had supported over many weeks, months or even years in significant distress. The government initiative caused home helps to become home carers overnight, essentially turning 'Home Helps' into personal carers overnight. From their first-hand experience, Liz and Sue however knew that people needed both services, not just one or the other.
Convinced that they might only have a couple of elderly ladies to look after and could cover for each other during holidays, the friends became business partners and set up Rose Care.
The idea took root across the Felixstowe community and demand blossomed. Within six months, the company had six staff and continued to grow, but it was considered important to keep things tight, tidy and pruned to perfection.
There was no desire to see the business shoot off in other geographical directions or risk an anonymous presence by upscaling the team. Small is beautiful - it allows time to smell the flowers. Good quality service, a personal face and a hands-on approach from everyone was the ethos which enabled the company to get to know and care for its clients - properly.
